This session will provide information about how to leverage regional data to support career and technical education programs in higher education systems to maximize employment opportunities for program completers. We will demonstrate and discuss labor market tools, how to combine tools for more accurate information, how this data can inform CTE programs, and why this matters for enrollment, jobs, and local business. Labor market tools discussed and demonstrated are: Lightcast, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, State and regional data sources, job posting sites, and local business sites. Provided are helpful considerations to look out for when searching for accurate information and how to provide information to key stakeholders to inform CTE programming within a higher education setting.
