Building a stable pipeline of Hispanic students enrolling in college can be challenging, but Rogue Community College (RCC) has made progress through collaborative efforts. Over the past year, RCC has successfully partnered with internal departments to engage and support both prospective and current students. Beyond recruiting high school students, RCC has actively collaborated with the GED and ESL departments to prepare their students for college. This session will highlight the specific activities and events that have driven increased student participation, fostering excitement and momentum toward achieving the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation.

This session will provide information about how to leverage regional data to support career and technical education programs in higher education systems to maximize employment opportunities for program completers. We will demonstrate and discuss labor market tools, how to combine tools for more accurate information, how this data can inform CTE programs, and why this matters for enrollment, jobs, and local business. Labor market tools discussed and demonstrated are: Lightcast, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, State and regional data sources, job posting sites, and local business sites. Provided are helpful considerations to look out for when searching for accurate information and how to provide information to key stakeholders to inform CTE programming within a higher education setting.
